Hamilton honors the life of Alexander Hamilton, conceptualized and scored by the multi-talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, based off the 2004 biography of Ron Chernow. It tells the real life of Alexander Hamilton in a ‘hipper’ format, being faithful to the truth behind his life but with creative direction and musical styles that makes Hamilton largely entertaining. The show originally began off Broadway in the late summer of 2015 and was rapidly met with spectacular reviews for its debut. Along with a number of press articles and audiences, The Washington Post, called it “making ecstatic history”, as the Musical’s performance with its spectacular cast which included the likes of Lin-Manuel Miranda himself in the lead role and Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff, impressed audiences in its first performance with a brilliant performance. The production went on over the next 10 years to win eleven Tony Awards from sixteen nominations, in addition to Olivier, Grammy, and Pulitzer Prize Awards.

Ever since its debut, the production has also gone on to perform in several entertainment venues around the globe, where it has been receiving continuously positive reviews. BroadwayWorld calls Hamilton “the hottest ticket in town”, as it appeals to a broad range in audience due to it being accessible to both the more mature audiences who came for the history behind Hamilton, and the newer audiences that are drawn to the new and creative approach behind Hamilton. In London’s West End, TimeOut mentions their worry behind the show being overhyped, but that “Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical about Alexander Hamilton, the first secretary of the U.S. Treasury, is actually better than the hype suggests”. Even just recently the touring cast in its Manila, Philippines’ performance, PEP PH describes the production as a “visual and sensory feast that adds layers of depth to the narrative”; “This musical is a masterpiece not because it tells a flawless story, but because it brilliantly captures the essence of the imperfect human experience, and in doing so, it achieves perfection on the stage”, they add.

Magazine critics and viewers alike agree that Hamilton is a must-attend this winter as it continues its runs all over the Country.
